Hi there! I’m originally from Boston and New York City, and recently started on a new lifestyle of working seasonal jobs in tourist destinations and then traveling in between jobs. These jobs are easy to get and as a bus driver I get paid better than most jobs. Now I’m driving buses in Breckenridge, Colorado (US) for this upcoming winter.

Is anyone else living in this kind of lifestyle? Where are you working?

    • Hey there @transitgeek Welcome to the site.
My wife and I do the exact same thing. I work construction for a few months in the summer and my wife will bartend/serve during that time as well. It’s a pretty great lifestyle to have. 🙂

    • Welcome, Jeremy! From what I’ve learned in my time with VeganTravel, this work/life balance you describe seems like the perfect way to achieve a flexible travel lifestyle that works for a lot of folks! How are you enjoying Breckinridge so far? I’ve visited before in the summertime, but not being an avid skier or snowboarder, I haven’t made it there during the busy season– I’m sure it’s beautiful!

      • It is beautiful but so far there has not been any significant snow. I’m not really a skier, just here for the work since they have a pretty robust transit system. I will do some nordic (cross country) skiing but not going to go on the mountain because it’s way too expensive to justify. One day of downhill skiing is more than a month’s rent in many countries!

        • Living in CO now, I can’t say I’m mad we haven’t seen snow yet here in the foothills this season. I think the cost is one of the reasons I’ve never tried skiing, though of all the winter activities, I think cross country skiing would be the one I’d most like to give a whirl.

          • Still not much yet but I’m not worried. It will come, and even if it doesn’t, I’ll keep hiking and biking. You’re welcome to stay here anything and/or use my XC skis or snowshoes. I’d be happy to go for a hike/ski sometime.
