We found this happy Buddha statue on a your of the Terracotta factory in Xi’an, China. He’s still one of the happiest faces I’ve ever seen. May he always remind us of the joy in life.

The Liang Pi (cold noodles) we made on the lost plate food tour in Xi’an, China. We didn’t stretch these noodles ourselves but we did slice them up with a knife the size of my torso!

When visiting the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an you can almost smell sadness and taste the fear in the thick dusty air. I’ve never had such an emotional reaction to a historical site, but this one pulled at my heart strings. So many lives lost for one man’s desire.

Fresh veggie spring rolls from a little restaurant outside our school in Phnom Penh. So yummy, so fresh and so so so cheap!!! You can get a whole meal for less than $5 and beer starts at $0.50.

TBT: how I looked out exploring Cambodia on the first day. Breathing the air is like smoking a pack a day so I convinced myself that wearing this flimsy mask helped even though mucus was always black at the end of the day.

Whoa really?!

Yeah, they dont have any enforced government regulations about pollution or emissions 🙁 not to mention they usually just burn their garbage on the side of the road rather than have it picked up.

Would love to go to Cambodia soon. How were the vegan options there?
-
Well they dont really use milk or cheese so that’s nice, you just have to get things without meat and eggs. Not too hard but not too too many already began options. But definitely do able! Its a great vacation and very inexpensive, I recommend it!
-
The only other thing that u have to be careful with is that Cambodians love to use fish sauce or shrimp pastes in the majority of their dishes and that’s often tough to get around.

The Lost Plate Food Tour in Xi’an, China was the best organized travel experience I’ve ever had. The night even ended with a beer sampling and a wonderful goodie bag!
