Fruit market in Nha Trang, Vietnam with dragonfruits, custard apples, pomelos & mangosteens. They also had mangoes, lychees & rambutan that I ate. Nha Trang has a big beautiful beach it’s well known for if you’re ever in the area! @vegannomad in PDX

The Queen of Fruits and one of my favorites, Mangosteen :D. They have a sweet and tangy taste and soft juicy texture. From Chiang Mai, Thailand at the Muang Mai Market, $1-2 per kilo! @vegannomad in PDX

A Hainanese dish called “chicken rice,” popular in Singapore – veganized from Tanaka Vegetarian food stall for $3. Singapore has a lot of vegan options at hawker centres, aka kind of a like a cafeteria-like building, & super affordable! @vegannomad in PDX

A Burmese noodle dish called Mohinga, with fresh lemongrass, banana stems and chili, veganized by a Thai friend who welcomed me into her home whenever I stayed in Bangkok. One of the most delicious dishes I’ve had. @vegannomad in PDX

Loving Hut restaurant, in Singapore! This was post-Veganburg with a Singaporean vegan friend I randomly met on twitter. 😄 So many vegan finds in Singapore, from Malay to Chinese, Indian and western. Malay food is so delicious! @vegannomad in PDX

One thing I’ve learned in my travels is just how wonderful and supportive the vegan community can be. I love that you met someone on Twitter and ended up having an adventure. Best way to do! 🙂
-
@vegannomad thanks! 🙂 Agreed! I only knew 1 vegan person irl before I visited Asia, now most of my vegan friends are in Asia ;D

Da Lat, Vietnam 🌏 Quiet & friendly, but bustling with a centered downtown of night markets, restaurants & small businesses. You can also take trips to nearby temples, falls, parks & pagodas. There was also a veg restaurant that served 50 cent vegan meat bahn-mi’s 🙂 @vegannomad in PDX

Reppin’ my favorite Bay Area band @poundersofficial overlooking Pasig River near the Chinatown district of Manila, Philippines. The area has a couple of veg restaurants that have really cheap & good veganized Filipino & Chinese food @vegannomad in PDX

From an all-you-can-eat durian buffet in Penang, Malaysia. It was around $10 USD! Unripe ones can have an onion-y taste, but I’ve had some that tasted like caramel! If you haven’t tried durian yet & an opportunity comes up, definitely go for it & try! @vegannomad in PDX

An all-vegan supermarket in Taipei, Taiwan. I bought red mangoes, bananas, & durian candy. They also have a freezer section of sweets and faux meats, produce and toiletries and household products! @vegannomad in PDX

A sweet coconut nectar drink from a pit stop stall on the way to Pai, Thailand: a small, super friendly town in Northern Thailand. I went with new vegan friends I met, who made the trip really memorable. We did hot springs, visited beautiful cliffs, hung out in treehouse hotels and ate #vegan Thai food.🍴 @vegannomad in PDX

Vegan longganisa at Juicesabel restaurant in Makati, Philippines. Longganisa is a traditional Filipino breakfast meal; sweet and salty with a side dip of vinegar. Filipino food is usually animal-heavy but there is a big vegan community in the Philippines! @vegannomad in PDX
