So for my last day visit to Portland, I’ve made a list of places I want to make sure I visit before I go home back to Ohio! Below is the list, if you greatly recommend any other places you think I need to hit, please let me know!
– Sweat Pea Bakery
– Herbivore
– Food Fight Grocer
– Vtopia Cheese Shop & Deli
– Homegrown Smokehouse & Vegan…[Read more]-
These are all awesome places! I would also recommend Next Level Burger, Blossoming Lotus, Harlow, and A.N.D. Cafe if you can make it to any of those.

Thank you so much! We ended up having less time in Portland than I thought we would… But I’m hopefully going to be back this summer and will definitely have these on my list! Thanks again!

A bit late but….
There’s also Petunia’s Pie and Pastries!! sooooo good! Plus I’ve heard of a few vegan food trucks (not sure if they’re open with the crazy weather?)
-
Yah the weather was sucking lol I’ll hopefully be back this summer and get more of the food truck experience though! I’ll have to try out Petunia’s too. Thanks so much!

Hi everyone! My name is Corissa, I’m from Ohio and I’m currently 22 years old. I went to being vegetarian when I was in just 6th grade and have been vegan since July of this past year!
For almost a month now I’ve been on “Winter Vacation” (aka I don’t have a job lol) and have traveled to Mexico and I’m now in Oregon. This bit of longer travel has…[Read more]-
Hey there @corissamarie, really glad you found the site.
Did you like travelling in Mexico? We were there earlier this year for a month and had such an amazing time. So much Vegan food everywhere. This year my wife and I have travelled to 23 countries and not once did we find it difficult to be vegan. There is such a movement happening around the…[Read more]-
Hi Cody, thanks for reaching out!
We really did enjoy being in Mexico, we were mostly around the Playa Del Carmen area, but I hope to travel further inland in the future.
That’s so amazing that you and your wife have been able to travel so much, what a dream! It’s so nice to hear that you both have found it easy to be vegan in so many different…[Read more]-
@corissamarie How was Playa del Carmen? We decided to stay in Tulum instead but it was a tool up between the two places. Mexico is such a great place to explore and pretty easy to be vegan as well.
I am from Toronto, Canada. Never been to Dayton but enjoyed the few days I spent in Columbus.
-
@codyk It was so much fun! We stayed at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort and it was just amazing. Outside of the resort though was also so great. We had a lot of fun exploring!
I think Canada is next on my list! I’ve never been, even though I’m really not that far.
If you’re ever back in Ohio, let me know and I’ll give you some good food suggestions!

Hey Portland, Oregon people! So I’m making my list of places I want to go when I get back to Portland this weekend… I want to visit the Vtopia Cheese Shop & Deli and The Homegrown Smokehouse & Vegan Deli. When I look these two up online though, they’re listed at the same location. Is this correct? Thanks in advance for the help!
-
Vtopia and Homegrown Smokehouse are right next to each other. It was a pleasant surprise to find that out as both are absolutely worth a visit 🙂
-
Oh that’s so great to hear and know! Looking forward to visiting there this weekend! Thanks for the help 🙂
-
-
I believe they are located next to each other . And If you have time too, the bye and bye has delicious food also! 🙂
-
Nice, thank you! I’ll definitely have to check into Bye and Bye as well.!

Enjoying my time spent traveling for the first time in Oregon! Currently in Eugene, home of the amazing Cornbread Cafe, specializing in vegan comfort food <3
Hi @corissamarie, here’s a link to some vegan options members of our community have reviewed: https://www.vegantravel.com/dining/tags/philadelphia-1/
Oh, this is great! Thank you so much!
Philly has so many awesome vegan options, I’ve only been once and was just barely able to scratch the surface! Blackbird Pizzeria is a must, and you can visit Dottie’s Donuts for some incredible options (when I was there, they hadn’t opened their storefront yet, but I snagged one from a cafe, and it was stellar). There’s also a wholesale vegan…[Read more]
I LOVE Grindcore, you can actually find some things from Vegan Treats and Dottie’s there. Miss Rachel’s Pantry used to have a lovely cafe but they only do farmhouse table dinners on certain Friday and Saturday evenings (which I also hope to attend one day).
HipCityVeg and Pure Sweets & Co both have a wonderful menu too, but if you can only make…[Read more]
Oh I cannot wait to try these places! I’m not sure when I am going to get the chance to travel again here soon, but as soon as I do I will be using all of these recommendations! Thank you!
