Heading north in 2 weeks to drive around the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and up to Hervey Bay. Keen to find some treasures I haven’t discovered in Queensland yet. Any suggestions?

I’m excited to go to Nan Tien Temple in Wollongong, Australia tomorrow! This time to try one of their popular (always sell out months in advance) meditation workshops. The full day workshop includes a healthy, yummy vegan lunch!

    • I am so jealous you had truffle ANYTHING on a flight! All of these look really great, did you have an absolute favorite?

      • My absolute favourite would either be the mushroom ravioli or the veggie noodles! They were actually really tasty, I was impressed.

    • Oh wow, I’d be happy to eat all of that even if I wasn’t on a plane!

    • Wow, that collection is impressive! Mushroom truffle ravioli? Come on!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
      I loooove truffles.

    Hi Everybody! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a born and raised Sydneysider. I was absolutely stoked to find vegantravel.com, a website that combines 2 of my passions together. I didn’t grow up in a vegan family but I came to realise that it is a lifestyle that just feels natural for me. After some resistance from my family I transitioned to a vegetarian diet in my…[Read more]

    • I’m currently in Sydney for a month!

      • That’s awesome! Where are you staying? Any plans for your stay?

        • I’m up in Chatswood, working out of North Sydney… I was thinking of trying to go to Melbourne or go skiing, but quickly running out of time!

    • Welcome Chelsey! We are all really looking forward to reading your blogs. I’ve been to Australia a few times, and after each visit I can wait to go back and explore more. I haven’t visited anywhere in Western Australia yet, but I was thinking about heading over sometime during wildflower season. Any suggestions on good places or times to visit?

    • Honestly I’m pretty jealous of people who have actually come from a vegan family, but I think it’s pretty rare. I was able to convert my family though, so I know it’s possible that way around, too! I can’t wait to read about your travels, they all sound like really cool trips!

I\’m about to book accommodation for September in Dubai and have narrowed it down to the Sheraton Grand and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Does anyone have any experience with either one or have any other accommodation you\’d suggest?

    • Are they in the same area of town?? That’s probably one of the biggest things about Dubai…

      • Thanks Jenn ๐Ÿ™‚ the Sheraton is closer to things we want to do so it’s looking like the Sheraton Grand! Although I hear that although things may be within walking distance, the heat makes everyone want to travel by car either way hehe

        • Definitely plan to not walk if you’re going anytime soon!! I was just there and it was 42 degrees, felt like 50!! Walking outside for more than 5 minutes was impossible, and I’m not exaggerating… I had to keep ducking into store to stop from becoming too hot… And I still think I got a touch of heat exhaustion…

        • Just saw September in your first post, duh!! lol… It will still be pretty hot I think though… Don’t plan on walking a lot…

    • I’ve been living and working out here for the past couple of years. I’ve always opted for Airbnb over hotels. In most cases you get more privacy and space for a better price. If you have any UAE-related questions, feel free to shoot me a message.

Heading to Dubai, Orlando, Miami, New York and Lebanon in September! ๐Ÿ˜€ Any tips?

    • I and @alan have all of the tips for New York! How long will you be there?

      • Awesome! I’ll be there for 2 weeks from mid September. What do you suggest?

      • Hey @chelseyprior! I must have missed this, I’m so sorry!! Good thing you’re not leaving for another month ๐Ÿ™‚

You should check out the NY Guide page, there’s a food crawl video and a few blog posts about it and the best places to see and eat ๐Ÿ™‚

My dad is from Brooklyn, so I’ve seen a slightly less touristy side of NY, so those blogs should be…[Read more]

    • Hi @chelseyprior !! Have you been to Lebanon before? It can be a little intimidating. Eep! The last time I was there (over 6 years ago) I basically lived off of falafel as I didn’t find much else in vegan food. I could have looked harder though. I have a friend who lives there and I’d be happy to put you in touch with him. He’s from Lebanon and…[Read more]

      • Hi Kristin! ๐Ÿ™‚
I’ve never been to Lebanon before but I’ll be staying with a friend and her family while I’m there. Fingers crossed for more than falafel!
I’d love your friends contact info if you don’t mind. It’s always good to know a local or have a contact just incase. I’ll send you a message.

    • I’d love to give you my Orlando recommendations! I’ll send you a message ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Thanks so much for such comprehensive advice! I’m going through all the links thoroughly and gradually making an Orlando list ๐Ÿ˜€
