Vegan Travel Technology Tips
Bringing the right technology devices and accessories with you will save you a bundle of cash while on the road. Here some technology tips from seasoned travelers.
Flights can be long and boring, and so it is good to bring lots to do with you. Some of our must-have items include a book, music, and some movies and shows. The book(s), music, movies, and shows can be loaded onto an mp3 player or a tablet. If you like taking a physical book with you, it can be helpful to take ones that you wouldn’t mind leaving behind, and possibly exchanging them for others.
MOBILE PHONES
We like buying unlocked phones so that when we travel, we don’t have to buy a separate phone to use. Unlocked is slightly more expensive as phone companies can’t lock you into a plan, so if that’s not within your budget, we’d recommend buying a really simple unlocked phone.
Skype is really useful, and is by far the cheapest method for calling home. Another option would be to get an international sim card. Our personal favorite is to get an unlimited prepaid data plan with Three (a UK company, so it would be difficult to come by if you are not stopping by in the UK), as they provide a free at home service, which means that in select countries (at the time of writing, this includes Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Macau, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, and USA) it is free to use roaming for data. This means that in all of these countries we can just use the data to connect to Skype, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and FaceTime to keep in contact with our friends and family.
